EDIT 1/31/2016: Still not 100% happy with the lyrics, especially the verse that begins with "But despite all their glory..." Looking to improve that verse over the next week.

A Twilight Sparkle version of Ponyphonic's fan song Lullaby for a Princess, inspired by Argodaemon's animation Remembrance.

I don't know anyone willing and able to sing the song, so I have uploaded a score instead. The score is based off of AppleCloud's transcription, found here: musescore.com/user/221...
I rearranged the melody slightly and made some simple changes to the harmony to suit the new melody. The rhythm of the melody was difficult to capture on a score, so I just went with quarter notes everywhere.

If you would like to cover the song, that would be great! Feel free to PM me, and I will help in whatever way I can.

Also, thanks to squishypegasister for the art: squishypegasister.devi...

Lyrics:

Fate has been cruel and order unkind;
How can they have sent you away?
The six bonded hearts, now forever apart;
The harmony's silent today...

But into the stillness I'll bring you a song,
And I will your company keep,
Till the calm, twilit sky, and my lullaby,
Have carried us softly to sleep...

Once did a pony so faithful a student look up from her studies and say,
As Princess Celestia's favorite student, what else could I possibly need in my day?
But the five little ponies, they opened her eyes to a destiny bright as the sun,
For as six friends united, from deep in their hearts grew a magic that brought them together as one.
So great was their friendship, so brilliant its magic that fate did at last interfere,
And as princess of friendship, with love did she spread that magical harmony year after year.

'Night, little ponies, my friends of the past, rest now in twilight's embrace,
And carry my sorrow, kind winds of the earth, away to the sky and to space.
Return with the peace and the coolness of night, and carry my spirits to light.
Friends you're still loved so much more than you'd know; in my dreams I will see you tonight.

But despite all their glory they could not escape the winds and the tidings of fate,
And blind in their limelight they could not foresee the end that did surely await,
Till like five brief candles snuffed out in that wind did her friends from the living depart,
And left in the darkness alone did she rule, so great was her reign yet so empty her heart.

'Night, little ponies, my friends of the past, rest now in twilight's embrace,
And carry my sorrow, kind winds of the earth, away to the sky and to space.
Return with the peace and the coolness of night, and carry my spirits to light.
Friends you're still loved so much more than you'd know; may your guidance shine ever so bright,
And in my dreams I will see you tonight.
