Pencil Eraser - In Spite of You (feat. ISMBOF & Scrambles)
After six months, I'm finally releasing this highly anticipated (lolno) song, one of the ones featured in my WIP and collab roundup back in February (three of those four songs have now been released: www.youtube.com/watch?... I completely wrote this song, lyrics and all, back in December and recorded almost everything in January. Those of you who follow me on SoundCloud know that I released a near finished version on there in early March. Why the delay? To put it simply, a combination of setbacks and being sick, busy, lazy, and/or distracted with other music projects I saw as more pressing. It also didn't help that this PMV was a beast to put together (and that it took almost 10 tries before this video rendered all the way).
In any case, I'm really proud of how this turned out, both in the composition and in the recording/mixing. I think it does a pretty good job of showcasing everything I've done so far (scream and clean vocals, melodic guitar riffs, heavy breakdowns, bass, etc.), and it even has a fun solo! The style is definitely post-hardcore and perhaps a little heavier than my usual stuff, but I hope you guys enjoy it!
Of course, I can't thank ISMBOF and Scrambles enough for their parts in this: ISMBOF for his epic riffage throughout the song and his "dueling" part in the solo, and Scrambles for his guest screams and amazing art. This song wouldn't have been anywhere near complete without their contributions, and I couldn't imagine how it would sound without them in it. Also, thanks to them for their tips and feedback on the song and PMV as I was making them. NOW GO SUBSCRIBE TO THOSE GUYS - THEY BOTH MAKE AWESOME MUSIC AND PMVS TOO!

BACKGROUND:
This song is for all the people who have to put up with someone who doesn't deserve to be where they are (or really, any constant struggle with someone you don't like).
I won't reveal much of who I wrote this song about, in case that person ever sees this and makes the connection (doubtful, but you never know). All the lyrics were meant to be from one perspective (mine) and not two different people the way it worked with Trixie versus Twilight. Also, all the lyrics apply to this one person, who, if you can't tell, I'm a bit at odds with and have to put up with (see lyrics for some more detail; feel free to PM me for greater detail). Obviously, also inspired by Trixie versus Twilight in "Boast Busters" and "Magic Duel."
