"Evermore" is my first attempt at tracking a full song in Nanostudio, a fully-featured production studio for iPhone and other iOS devices.
I find it amazing that you can produce an entire song on your phone nowadays -_-
Anyways! You can probably tell that I'm much better at drawing than I am at making music. LOL. But that's okay. I do enjoy working with sound! Grab your textless download of my drawing as a wallpaper on my deviantART: deerhooves.deviantart....
I drew inspiration mainly from Feint's music. He's really gooddd. That being said... this isn't really DnB. I guess it's just random music. Regardless of that, I just put DnB as the genre for simplicity's sake Cx
I'll be going back to my desktop DAW, but my thoughts on having a really portable multitrack sequencing solution? It's really nice to be able to work on tracks wherever I go, and it certainly does help with inspiration - I feel like I sometimes can't think too creatively when I'm staring at knobs and sliders on my screen at home. In fact, I got the main melody for Evermore while I was on the train playing with the synths :P
I sequenced, sampled, and mixed everything right in NanoStudio. I used Sunrizer XS for sketching and inspiration, and I used Sunvox to do some basic limiting. Garageband provided my orchestral strings and piano, and Loopy allowed me to import those sounds into NS. I used JamUp Pro XT for processing the synthesized guitar, and I pulled my drum samples from Propellerhead Figure. Lastly, Audiobus enabled me to route the apps to one another as a unified communications solution.
Here are the apps I used in the iTunes store:
Nanostudio for iPhone: itunes.apple.com/ca/ap...
Garageband for iPhone: itunes.apple.com/ca/ap...
Audiobus: itunes.apple.com/ca/ap...
Sunvox: itunes.apple.com/ca/ap...
Figure: itunes.apple.com/ca/ap...
JamUp Pro XT: itunes.apple.com/ca/ap...
Loopy: itunes.apple.com/en/ap...
Sunrizer XS: itunes.apple.com/ca/ap...
