This is a parody of an Irish folk song called The St. Patrick's Battalion, you can hear the original here:

www.youtube.com/watch?...

Before I say anything, all the credits for the lyrics go to my friend Luis who re-build them to add that poni-poni feeling we love so much. Oh! and also to mah deer friend ElJapones who draw that epic pic specially for the ocasion! I'll left their respective contacts below in the credits section.

Now, I don't mean to mess with the politics behind the original song, in fact, I hate politics, so I really want you to take this as the simple thing it is: a parody. But although this was originally intented to be silly, I couldn't help to add some emotional thingies during the tune. My bad.

Enjoy it!

LYRICS

My name is Bill Riley
I'll have your ear only a while
I left my dear home on Earth
It was poverty, pollution or exile
And when I accomplished my travel
It was my duty to go
Enter the army and slog across the portal
To join in the war against Equestria

And it was there on the planes and hillsides
That I saw the mistake I had made
Part of an conquering army
With the morals of a bayonet blade
And in the midst of these poor, dying horses
Screaming foals, the burning stentch of it all
Myself and three hundred bravemen
Decided to rise to the call

From the Earth cities to Las Pegasus
We witnessed friendship denied
So we formed the Anon battalion
And we fought on the Equestrian side

We formed the Anon battalion
And we fought on the Equestrian side

We marched 'neath the green flag of Anon
Emblazoned with "Friendship not war"
Bright with the lyra and the hammer
And "Libertad para Equina"

Just eight years after Faust
From a whole world away
Those humans called us legion of weirds
And they can think as they may

But from the Earth cities to Las Pegasus
We witnessed friendship denied
So we formed the Anon battalion
And we fought on the Equestrian side

We formed the Anons battalion
And we fought on the Equestrian side

We fought them in Manehathan
While their soldiers were slaughtering the foals
In Maneterrey and Potro Gordo
We fought on as Equestria's sons
We were the red-headed fighters for freedom
Amidst these colorful-skinned mares and colts
Side by side we fought against greedy
And I daresay we'd do it again

From the Earth cities to Las Pegasus
We witnessed friendship denied
So we formed the Anon battalion
And we fought on the Equestrian side

We formed the Anon battalion
And we fought on the Equestrian side

We fought them in five major battles
Appleloosa was the last
Overwhelmed by the cannons from Europe
We fell after each mortar blast
Most of us died on that hillside
In the service of the Equestrian seat
So far from our doomed homeland
We were heroes and victims of fate

From our cities to Las Pegasus
We witnessed friendship denied
So we formed the Anon battalion
And we fought on the Equestrian side

From our cities to Las Pegasus
We witnessed friendship denied
So we formed the Anon battalion
And we fought on the Equestrian side

We formed the Anon battalion
And we fought on the Equestrian side
