This song is an attempt to look into Luna's psyche as she slowly progresses further and further toward becoming Nightmare Moon. On one hand, we wanted to show her downright enjoyment of going after revenge, and thinking she's giving her sister what she deserves. In NMM's mind, this is just glorious fun, and she wouldn't have it any other way. However, we also wanted to show the tragedy of this story. How in the end, what lead Luna to choose to go down this evil path was just her feeling lonely and rejected.
I envisioned an old swing set sitting abandoned by their original castle in the Everfree Forest, where the two of them used to play when they were foals, before any of the responsibility of being the Princesses of Equestria was thrust upon them. Luna misses those times... before she was ignored... before her sister became so distant... before they became so wrapped up in their royal duties.
But now as Nightmare Moon, she's ready to change all that.
It was an absolute pleasure being able to work with my good friend µThunder again on this track, the guy is an absolute WIZARD~ I had a really clear idea of how I wanted this song to sound as I was writing it, and he absolutely NAILED the instrumental. Be sure to throw some muffins his way for being so amazing! =D

2 years ago today, I decided I wanted to make pony music,. Thus I created this name "FritzyBeat", and my Youtube channel =) Since Nightmare Night is also right around the corner, what say we celebrate it with a little Nightmare Moon? ;D
